Education

Programs Available

This is just a sample of the programs we can provide to any classroom, educator, youth group or adult organization.  We can also tailor a program to meet your specific needs.

EnviroScape – The EnviroScape is a hands-on, interactive model that is designed to increase the awareness of water pollution.  It demonstrates pollution from various sources in the city and in rural landscapes.

Streamulator – The Streamulator is a hands-on, interactive model that is designed to demonstrate the process a stream goes through.  It shows stream parts, stream erosion and deposition, streambank protection, stream management, stream energy and stream changes.  The Streamulator also shows how we affect the stream and how the stream affects our lives.

Groundwater Model – All of Preble County gets drinking water from groundwater.  This model demonstrates how groundwater can become contaminated and how it affects our drinking water.  This is a great visual tool that helps people understand what is happening to our water supply under the ground.

Stream Monitoring – Search for macroinvertebrates and judge the health of a stream.  Learn about watersheds and the importance of water quality.

Soils – How it is formed, erosion, parts of soil and identifying the different types of soil.

Soil Testing – Tests density of soil, compaction, infiltration, pH and much more.  Covers soil health and its importance.

Many other programs are available covering soil, water, forestry, ecosystems, recycling, erosion, agriculture, and much more.
