District Programs Tree & Groundcover Sale : This is a great opportunity to buy saplings and groundcover for your property, school, church or organization at a relatively low cost. They can be used for windbreaks, wildlife habitat, reforestation efforts, conservation practices, and aesthetic purposes. Earth Day Event: This annual event is co-sponsored by Preble SWCD and the Preble County Landfill in the spring. This all day event has been held at Pleasant Vineyard Ministries, Camden, OH for the past few years. All sixth graders in the county schools participate in this environmental educational event. Soils Judging Competition: Each year the District sponsors a soils judging competition for area high school FFA chapters. This event is usually held on a Preble County farm. The winner of the this event competes in the District competition. Annual Meeting: A buffet-style dinner is combined with an update of the District's accomplishments. An election is held to assign officers to the Preble SWCD Board of Supervisors. This year's annual meeting is scheduled for November 18, 2008 @ the Twin Valley Community School with the meal beginning at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment this year will be announced later.Preble County Fair: Each year the Preble SWCD sets up an educational display booth at the annual county fair in August.
